At the age 58, he was welcomed to God's table, after a lengthy illness. He was the son of Rosemary F. and Melvin C. Allen. Dan graduated from Stoughton High School in 1970. He married Kathryn L. Dietenberger on Saturday, August 12, 1972. Dan was a senior scientist with Epicentre in Madison. He was also an asparagus farmer and owned Allen's Asparagus Acres. Dan enjoyed fishing, golfing and many activities with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; children, Sarah Allen, Chad (Dawn) Allen and Brenda (Chris) Johnsrud; grandchildren, Shane Thrun and Griffin Allen, and Jakob Johnsrud; brothers, David (Cindy) Allen and Doug Allen; and sister, Nicki (Nolan) Andersen. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dean Allen; and sister, Vicki Allen. The family thanks everyone who helped Dan live his asparagus farming dream.
