He was my grandpa. He served in the Army for 8 years following the Spanish American War during the Philippine Occupation. He was stationed at Fort McKinley in the Philippines where he was an officer's driver.

He has family in Carthage, Indiana and Fort Worth, Texas.

He relocated to Indiana March 1928 with his wife and four children From Lexington, Kentucky to Pendleton, Indiana because he didn't like the dairy laws in Lexington.

He and Mary owned a general and produce store in Lexington and a dairy, Kentucky somewhere by the Frankfort Pike area. They had a farm there as well and had dairy cattle, alfalfa, and corn farm with a runway for their son John's airplane. There were two silos for corn. The farm was split by a national highway so the silos were accross the highway from the farm.

They were members of the Christian Church.
