Elizabeth Laura Keyser was named after her father's two aunts, Elizabeth & Laura. She got the nickname Pat from playing Patty Cake. When she went to college she was called Beth. She attended St. Rita's and Longwood Academy in Chicago, IL. She played the piano. She skipped her last year of high school and attended the University of Chicago for 3 years where she met Roger Garrison. They were married at St. Patrick's in St. Charles, IL.
They moved to Marietta, Ohio and lived about 1 year. Then they moved to Brooklyn, NY. She loved children and took in many foster children. They lived for awhile in Levittown, NY in the early 60's then moved to Rockville
Centre, where they adopted Katherine when she was 11 months old. Elizabeth was a severe diabetic from the age of 16 on. She loved people and was an avid reader and brilliant, active in political campaigns. She was for human rights and betterment for all. They went to St. Charles at Thanksgiving and she died of complications of flu and diabetes. (Carol Keyser Matthys)
