SPIDEL, Sarah E. 94, of Greenville, Ohio died Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 8:22 p.m. in the Brethren Home of Greenville.

She was born April 9, 1911 in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late George and Leona (Gilbert) Dohme.

She was a homemaker. She was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Greenville, member of the Altar Guild, Lutheran Church Women and had served as President of the Tabitha Club of the Church.

She was a 1930 graduate of Greenville High School, enjoyed her flowers and garden; and was a member of the Nature Trails Garden Club. Also, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Coterie Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur D. Spidel; daughter, Collette Eikenberry; brother, Gilbert Dohme and sister, Zella Kessler.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, George J. and Kathryn Spidel, Dayton, David L. and Mariette Spidel, Scottsdale, Arizona, John W. and Jane Spidel, Bonita Springs, Florida and Wilbur D. "Sam" Spidel II, Santa Fe, New Mexico; daughter and son-in-law, Gretchen K. and Robert Pequignot, Springfield; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five nieces and one nephew.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in the Greenville Cemetery with Pastor Haldon Robarge and Pastor Peter Menke officiating.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements by the ZECHAR BAILEY FUNERAL HOME, Greenville.

A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Endowment Fun.
