Born August 14, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Harold L. and Nellie Akinson Debenham.
Married Lee T. Simpson on January 10, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah; later solemnized in the Salt Lake L.D.S Temple.
Luana was a longtime resident of the East Millcreek area, attending the Sherman Elementary and Granite High School. Very active member L.D.S. Church, serving in many capacities over the years, including the scouting and primary programs. She enjoyed her family, and always participated in any of the sports or other activity her children were involved in. She was a sweet and willing spirit, there for the needs of others with a helping hand.
Survived by her husband, Lee; two sons, Wayne (wife Dianna) and Weslee Simpson; a daughter, Mrs. John (Mary Jane) Hargreaves; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, all from Salt Lake City. Also surviving are two sisters Beverly Cannon and Jean Staten; and a brother Harold J. Debenham. Preceded in death by a son, Kenny; a grandson, Denver Jay; and two brothers, Everett and Steve.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 30, 1990 in the Valley View Fourth Ward Chapel, 2125 East Evergreen Avenue (3425 South). Friends may call on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the Church on Monday for one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens.
