Mrs. T. M. Coon of 405 South Lutterloh Street died Sunday in the local hospital. She was 74, and had lived in McLennan and Coryell counties all her life.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel, with Minister Herschel Nelson officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Coon was born Lillian Estelle Tilley in McLennan County April 21, 1891. She was married to Mr. Coon, a farmer, on Dec. 20, 1908, and they moved from Moody to the Mountain community east of Gatesville in 1938. They had resided in Gatesville the last five years.
Mrs. Coon was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Surviving are her husband of Gatesville; two sons, Lester Coon of Odessa and Dale Coon of Coos Bay, Oregon; three daughters, Mrs. Jim Comer of Oglesby, Mrs. Barnell Allen of Moody and Mrs. G. W. Strickland of Waco; one brother, Coin Tilley of Fresno, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Eva Perryman of Moody; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
One son, Cecil Coon, died March 22, 1964.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Coon's funeral services were Tom Jeff Truss, Jim Comer, Darnell Albert, G. W. Strickland, Milton Pollard and Billy Pollard
