HEREFORD - A.J. Salinas, 15, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009.
Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in West Park Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Rando, pastor of Genesis Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rix Funeral Directors.
A.J. was born Oct. 21, 1994, in Lansing, Mich., to Arturo Salinas Sr. and Esmeralda Salas. He had been a resident of Hereford for two months, where he was a freshman at Hereford High School.
Survivors include his father, Arturo Salinas Sr. of Hereford; his mother, Esmeralda Salas of Dallas; a stepbrother, Santiago Molina of Edinburg; a stepsister, Crystal Eve Barrientes of Dallas; his grandfather, Guadalupe C. Salinas of Benson, Minn.; two grandmothers, Marianita A. Salinas of Willmar, Minn., and Margarita Salas of Dallas; and his great-grandmother, Matea Salas of Dallas.
