Andrew Jackson Thompson was 30-years-old when he enlisted in C.S.A. 1ST Alabama, K Company at Prattville, AL as 2nd Sergeant about March of 1862. He was seriously wounded at the Battle of Peach Tree Creek, Atlanta, 28 July 1864 and succumbed to his wounds in August 1864, maybe in a military hospital in Griffin Ga.

Photo was taken on his wedding day, Valentine's Day 1850, to his bride Amanda Booth Thompson.

Post script: On Feb 14, 2013, Jean Moore wrote to say that according to a newspaper article from 1866, Andrew died on 17 Aug 1864.
