Mary Jane Gadd Ramey, 89, of Disputana in Rockcastle County, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 of respiratory failure at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. She was a Rockcastle County native born Feb. 20, 1920, daughter of the late McKinley and Nancy Baker Gadd, homemaker, and faithful member of Crestview Holy Santuary.
Survivors include 7 children, William (Margaret) Gadd, Opal Long, Ruth (Ralph) Thomas, Lorene (Lester) Damrell, Bonnie (Donnie) Adams, Jerry (Kandy) Ramey, Wanda Combs; 1 brother, Earnest Gadd; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; 14 great great grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hermon Ramey, 8 sisters and brothers, 2 infant sons, and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral Service 1:00 PM, Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009 at Crestview Holy Santuary with Bro. Harold Eades officiating. Burial will follow in Davis-Witt Cemetery in Rockcastle County. Visitation at the church after 6:00 PM on Wednesday. Reppert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
