John M. Fields. John M. Fields died this morning at 8 o'clock at his home, 530 Pine street, after a long illness, at the age of 51 years. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Zell Murray Fields, three sisters, Mrs. Delamore Duncan of Schoolcraft, Mrs. M. L. Carver of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Charlotte Waite of Campbell, California, and one brother, George S. Fields of Grading, Colo. Mr. Fields was an old resident here and was well and favorably known for his kindly disposition. He was a member of the local G. A. R., having served honorably throughout the civil war as a cavalryman. He was a member of the People's church and the Masonic lodge at Schoolcraft. Short services will be held at 1 o'clock Sunday at the home the Rev. E. C. Smith officiating, after which the remains will be taken to Schoolcraft where the funeral will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock , the Rev. Caroline Bartlett Crane officiating.
