Sophia Regina Spaugh was the second of three known children of Samuel Spaugh (1797-1858) and Catharina Greter (1796-1875), who married 19 Nov 1818 at Friedberg, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina.
Sophia married Allison Clarke Remy (1827-1918) on 11 jan 1846 at Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana. Sophia and Allison were the parents of four known children, namely:
1. Catherine Rebecca Remy Butler (1847-1927)
2. James S. Remy (1848-1854)
3. Curtis Henry Remy (1852-1911)
4. Sherman Remy (1856-1866)
