JOY FRANKS passed away on Christmas Eve, 2009 in Wimberley, Texas at the age of 82. She was born in Henderson, Texas on September 5, 1927. Never was a person so appropriately named. She was a joy to all that knew her. Her love for life was surpassed only by her love for her family. She was the ideal grandmother to not only her own grandchildren, but to the children of her neighbors and friends. You could always count on Joy to make you laugh and she was always the life of the party. As a longtime resident of Houston and Lake Conroe, she was passionate about fishing and she loved her dogs liked she loved her children. Joy was married to John Franks for 61 years prior to his death in 2005. She is survived by her 3 children George Franks, Rickey Franks and Brenda Franks Love, all of Houston; grandchildren Jason Franks, Lisa Franks Barnard, Jon Franks, Natalie Franks Crossley, Tiffany Franks Fisher, and Lindsey Love; and 5 precious great grandsons. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Frwy, Houston on Tuesday December 29, at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 1911 Corporate Dr., San Marcos, Tx 78666.
