Bernease Lindsey Austin, age 80, of Florence, died Monday, July 8, 2002, at ECM Hospital after a brief illness.Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral will be at Greenview Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Bud Mayfield and the Rev. Chris Underwood, associate ministers at Highland Baptist Church.Bernease was born in Lauderdale County in the Wright community to Green Berry Lee Lindsey and Quinnie Sharp Lindsey. Bernease was a very devoted wife and a homemaker for 57 years. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church for more than 50 years.She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gail Austin of Florence; son, Robert Kevin Austin, Florence; and brother, Ralph Lindsey and wife, Lucille, Sheffield. Pallbearers will be Charles Taylor, Larry Taylor, Mike Austin, Paul Austin, Randle Austin and Kenneth Austin.The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Robert Mann, Dr. David Bachofer and staff of ECM Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Highland Baptist Church Building Fund or your favorite charity.Greenview Funeral Home of Florence is directing.
