Alice M. Wanck

Alice M. Wanck, 81, of Owego, joined her husbnad of 60 years, Oscar, in heaven Thursday, February 2, 2006, at her home. She was predeceased by her parents, Willard and Vera Cornell; and her brothers, Kenneth and Donald Cornell. She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Wanck, Horseheads, N.Y.; four sons, Gerald and Jacqueline Wanck, Binghamton, Glenn and Wanda Wanck, Endicott, Brian and Tamara Wanck, Owego, Kevin and friend, Roxanne, Endicott; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Arthur Wishinsky, Lake City, Tenessee, Grace and Ben Painter, Whitney Point, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Kathy, Jill, and Linda Reynolds, Matt and Anthony Wanck, Jeff and
Mike Smith; also five great-grandchildren, also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice was a lifelong member of the Whittemore Hill United Methodist Church. She was deeply dedicated to her church and family. She served as an election inspector for more than 20 years for Tioga County as well as the U-E School District.
A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2006, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main St., Vestal. The Reverend Vickie Maxon, Pastor of the Whittemore Hill United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 until service time at 12 p.m. Those wishing may make contributions in Alice's memory to the memorial fund of the Whittemore Hill United Methodist Church c/o Warren Whittemore, 4931 Day Hollow Road, Endicott, N.Y 13760, or to the American Cancer Society Broome County Chapter, 31 Adams Ave ., Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
