Joseph Adams Allen, Jr., 86, died December 27, 2009 at Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home, Anderson, SC. A native of Saluda, SC he was a son of the late Joseph Adams Allen, Sr. and Bernice Long Allen, a member of Fulton Presbyterian Church and a Doctor of Chiropractic. Dr. Allen was a US Army Air Corp Veteran, a Mason and was a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. Surviving are his wife, Betty Jan Hayes Allen, one daughter, Dixie A. Cooper (Trey) of Greer; four sons, William R. (Bill) Allen of Greenville, Dr. Joseph A. Allen of Greer, Wallace Dean Allen of Lexington, and Dr. Walter Scott Allen (Rachel) of Easley; a sister, Betty A. Thompson of Asheville, NC and 7 grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wood Mortuary conducted by the Pastor Grover Timms. Visitation will be Thursday from Noon until 2 p.m at the Mortuary. The families are at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to Miracle Hill Ministries, P.O. Box 2546, Greenville, SC 29602 or Richard M.
