Gladys Marie Bruner, 70, of Blairsville, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006 at Shadyside Hospital. The daughter of William and Eunice Mack Jackson, Sr., she was born April 1, 1935, in Heilwood.
Mrs. Bruner lived her entire live in Indiana County, where she was briefly employed by Robertshaw and most importantly, was a homemaker who enjoyed being on the family farm baking bread and cooking.
She was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, where she had been teaching Sunday School for 57 years. She started and taught the Junior Church Program, and was also past superintendent of the Sunday School Program.
Mrs. Bruner was also active in the Women's Adult Sunday School Class and Woman ALGOW.
She is survived by her husband, Clark A. Bruner, Sr.; two children: Clark A. Jr. and wife Connie, Blairsville, Coleen Marie Elofsky, Indiana; two brothers: Edward Jackson, Derry, and Albert Jackson, Clymer; two grandchildren: Abigail Bruner and Elizabeth Bruner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: William Jackson, Jr. and George Jackson; and a sister, Helen Rollins.
A funeral service was held Wednesday at the Hopewell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jason McQueen officiating. Interment was in Coral Luther Chapel Cemetery.
Robinson-Lytle, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
