Pinson was a Confederate soldier during the Civil War, fighting with Company C, 61st Alabama Infantry, according to his Confederate pension with the State of Oklahoma (see https://digitalprairieok.net/). Both this pension card and OK2Explore agree that he died in Lincoln County on May 11, 1923. Census entries indicate he was born in Alabama, as was his brother, Benjamin Franklin Pinson (FAG # 45854638) . His wife Nannie also filed for a pension while living in Sparks. Her card and OK2Explore agree that she died September 16, 1937.
