WING, Roberta Mae - Of Grand Blanc, age 69, went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 20, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Friday, March 24, 2006 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 West Bristol Road in Flint, Pastor W. Glen Gardner and Pastor Scot Crothers co-officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Church of the Nazarene Missions. Visitation 1-8PM Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Wing will be at the church from 10AM Friday until the time of the service. Roberta was born in Flint, Michigan on February 12, 1937, the daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Mae Sisco. As a resident of Flint all of her life, Roberta graduated from Flint Central High School and attended Baker Business College. She then married Norman J. Wing on September 6, 1958 and worked as a secretary for General Motors Fisher Body Plant. After raising their children, Roberta was employed with the Flint Board of Education as the Executive Secretary of Employee Relations. As a reflection of her faith and love for Jesus Christ her personal savior, Roberta was actively involved in Central Church of the Nazarene. Her many ministries included choir, Mothers Of Preschoolers program and women's bible study. In her younger years, Roberta was a member of the Gospelaire traveling singing trio. Roberta's family was the center of her life which included husband of 48 years Norm; daughter, Laura and husband Nathan Degner; son, Matthew and wife Jill. Roberta greatly loved and spoiled her grandbabies, Aaron Matthew and Alexandria Mae Degner, Mary Elizabeth and Matthew Henry Wing; loving sister and brother-in-law, Joanna F. and Gordon R. Green; brother-in-law, Robert D. and wife Elaine Wing; nieces and nephews, Brenda and husband Jerry Stace, Bruce and wife Krystal Green, Denise and husband John Keaton, Cathy and husband Scot Crothers, Todd and wife Joyce Wing, Chad Wing; many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; and brother, Jerry Sisco. Roberta will always be remembered for her faith in Jesus Christ, her love for her family, her wonderful family dinners and her favorite song, which she sang so beautifully, "His Eye is on the Sparrow."
