Graveside service for Dorothy Louise Mitchell, 90, a native of Decatur, will be Monday, April 28, 2008, at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Father Ray Remke officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Mass will be held at a later date at the Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mitchell died Friday, April 25, 2008, in Cleveland, Tenn. She worked at The Alabama Hosiery Mill for 10 years and retired from Monsanto after 25 years. Her interests included collecting and refinishing antiques, traveling worldwide, gardening, sewing and needlework. She was an active member of Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles B. Mitchell; her parents, Eunice Ponder Beck and William E. Harwell, and sister, Virginia Halter.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Mitchell Minor and husband, James, of Cleveland, Tenn.; son, Charles R. (Ray) Mitchell and wife, Sylvia, of Huntsville; grandchildren, Angela Minor of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Byron Minor of Cleveland, Charles Mitchell Jr., of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Leana Mitchell of Birmingham, and Bruce Mitchell and wife, Michelle, of Madison; great-grandchildren, Nathon Minor and wife, Kimberly, of Cleveland, Thomas, Anna and Sam Mitchell, of Madison, and Charles Fuller Mitchell of Crestview, Fla.; and great-great-grandchild, Sahara Minor of Cleveland.

Pallbearers will be Byron Minor, Nathon Minor, Charles Mitchell Jr., Bruce Mitchell, Johnny Berzett and Ronnie Hendrix.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wilson Mitchell and Charles Berzett.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 240 Johnston St. S.E., Decatur, AL 35601, or St. Ann's Catholic School, 3910 Spring Ave. S.W, Decatur, AL 35603.
