Francis Wayne Muetzel was the son of Irene Breckinridge (1904-2000) and Franz Hermann Muetzel (1901-1971).


He served in the U.S. Marine Corps aboard the USS Boxer, CV-21 during WW II as shown at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.


He was a Lieutenant commanding the 2nd Platoon, Company A, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines and is mentioned numerous times in The Assault on Red Beach, which led to the capture of Inchon, on the afternoon of September 15, 1950, during the Korean War.


Francis married Catherine Wood Johnson (1929 - 1975) on April 9, 1956 at the Elfindale Chapel, Spriingfield, Greene County, Missouri. They have three daughters and two sons.


After Catherine died, he then married Virginia Ann "Ginny" Johnson Amos (1939-1998). While formally step children, he added Ginny's daughter and son to his children.


Loved and missed by family and friends but especially by his children and step children. A distinguished veteran, good friend and great father.
