The HANKINS CEMETERY AND SILVIES CEMETERY are one in the same.
Barbara Ellen Davison's parents were William Davidson m Elizabeth Hepler 1824 in Lawrence Co. Ohio. She had three sisters we know about. Harriet Davidson m John Hamm, Christena Davidson m George Washington Kisling/Keesling and Mary Elizabeth Davison first wife of Roland Hankins. Mary was born 24 Aug 1825 in Ohio. Mary and Roland married in Madison Co. Ind. 1848-1850 and in 1850 census of Decatur Co. Iowa Barbara was living in their household. According to Roland's civil war records, Barbara and he were married in 1854 Barry Co. Mo. while still having Mary and children in Iowa.
To the union of Barbara and Roland were six children. Barbara Ellen m Daniel Carter Sr., Amanda Jane m Henry Clay Lutz, Nancy Ethel m 1) William Baker m 2) William John Hankins (son of Amos Hankins and Sarah E. Beavers), Roland Jr. m Olive James, James Pleasanton m Sarah Hopper and George Washington m Nora Ellen Hopper. All six of these children were born in Bates County, Missouri.
Note that the spelling of Davidson changed to Davisson when Elizabeth Hepler Davidson m 2) Joseph William Hankins 5 Jul 1832, and when Mary and Barbara m Roland Hankins it changed to Davison while the other two sisters kept the Davidson spelling.
It is not proven if William Davidson died and Elizabeth became a widow or if more siblings were born to the Davidson linage.
Roland and Barbara lived a most amazing life as pioneers on the land traveling from their homeland of Ohio as children into Ind. onto Iowa and Missouri, living in Milan, Kansas and Ryan Kansas and into Oregon where they setteled in Silvies, Silvies Valley, Oregon, Grant County.
Photos of Barbara and her family can be obtained from me upon request.
I am the greatgreatgrandaughter of Roland Hankins m 1) Mary Elizabeth Davison and greatgrandaughter of Roland's brother, Amos Hankins m Sarah E. Beavers. The Beavers lines intermarried into the Hankins lines many times making us all double double cousins at times. We have a rich Hankins-Beavers-Hopper history in Oregon and I am in the process of writing a book on our ancestors to include bible records and photos. Georgie Ann Hankins Waddell
