Crash Fatal to Glenn Drummond

Glenn Drummond of St. John, formerly of Stafford, was instantly killed about 5 o'clock Saturday evening in a highway accident at the Nelson corner on South Fifty, four miles west and a mile and a half north of Stafford. Harry Bill Ross of St. John, riding in the car with Drummond, received bruises and cuts and shock.
The two St. John men were returning to St. John after doing some electrical work in Stafford and were rounding the curve at the Nelson corner. An automobile transport, headed east, skidded as it started to make the turn. The trailer portion swing to the outside of the curve, struck the Drummond car, smashed the left side of the car and tore parts of it loose in a shearing action.
The transport left the highway out of control, and partially crossed the ditch at the east side of the curve.. Marlin E. Thompson of Kansas City, driver to the transport, apparently was not injured. The transport was owned by Jack Cooper of Kansas City.
