MERCED, Merced Co. - Funeral services were held today in the Solis Colonial Chapel for Ned Ryan Caplener, 35, of 1162 West Eleventh Street, who died Thursday in a local hospital after a short illness. Burial was in the Garden of Flora Cemetery. Caplener was a native of Arkansas and lived in Merced for 20 years. He was a truck driver. Surviving are his widow, Hollie; two daughters, Donna and Elisa; a son, Ronald; his mother, Mrs. Ruth Caplener, of Merced; three brothers, George of Merced, Max of Seaside and Gary of Sacramento, and five sisters, Mrs. Helen Dill of Chowchilla, Mrs. Doris Knowland of Planada, Mrs. Margaret Davis of Atwater and Mrs. Janice Lopes, and Mrs. Joanna Herrera, both of Merced.
