EMMA S. LEE. Mrs. Emma S. Lee was born August 5th, 1854, in Damascus township, Wayne county, Pennsylvania. near the Delaware River. She was married June 11th, 1879, at the home of her birth, to Allen S. Lee of Clinton town-ship, Wayne county, Pennsylvania, by Rev. James R. Remsen, then pastor of the Clinton Baptist church. The result of this marriage was two boys, Earl Eugene Lee and Allen Freeman Lee. The mull of the marriage of William Branning and Eliza Bierdslee Branning were eight children, all of which are now dead except two boys, Artemus Branning and Walter F. Branning. Emma S. Lee died February 28, 1907, and leaves to mourn her loss, a husband, two sons and two brothers. tier husband's family consisted of nine children, four boys and five girls, all of whom are married except one girl. Emma S. is the first adult to be parted from the families of her husband's brother and sister. Mrs. Lee was an active member of the ladies of the Modern Maccabees, Climax Hive, having been a charter member. She also belonged to the order of the Eastern Star of Climax and the Women’s Study Club. being an honorary member of the latter since the fall of 1906. Emma S. Lee was a woman of noble character, a dutiful daughter, a true and loving wife, a kind and indulgent mother and a generous neighbor. and besides her immediate relatives she leaves a host of friends. She was never heard to complain and many of her nearest neighbors hardly knew she was sick except as they could see it in her looks. The relatives present at the funeral from away were: Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kimble and family of Vicksburg, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Lee and family of Perry, Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Squires of Pavilion, Mr. and Mrs. Ransom Kimble, Vicksburg. The friends were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Milliman of Scotts, Mrs. Austin Pease of Scotts, Mrs. E. R. Jebb of Battle Creek.
