Services for Mrs. Alice Vivian AKERS, 78, of Dallas, a former longtime resident of Lipscomb County who died Tuesday in Dallas, were to be held at 10 a.m. today in Union Church at Lipscomb.
The Rev. Jene Greer, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Higgins, was to officiate with burial in Lipscomb Cemetery by Stickley Funeral Home of Canadian.
A resident of Lipscomb County since 1910, Mrs. AKERS and her husband, Raymond, farmed in Lipscomb County until 1965 when he died. She then moved to Dallas to make her home with a daughter, Mrs. Melba HUGHES of Dallas.
Other survivors include three other daughters, Mrs. Beth STATHEM of Houston, Mrs. Lola FRAZEE and Mrs. Avis PITTS, both of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Nellie SCOTT of Lipscomb; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
