Albert "Bud" W. Abbott, 73, of Piper, Kan., passed away Sunday, December 20, 2009. Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the Leavenworth V.A. National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145. Bud was born on March 23, 1936, in Kansas City, Kan. He was a United States Army veteran, retiring in 1973. He worked for Montgomery Wards, Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp., J.C. Penney and Kraft Tool, retiring in 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert W. Abbott, Sr. and Juanita Billups Abbott Templeton; brothers Richard and David Abbott, and one son, Robert Abbott. Survivors include his sisters Patty Rogers-Smith and Leta Mae Verkuilin, and the Love of his Life, JoAnn Abbott Fulcher; three children, Ronald Abbott, Roger Abbott and wife Dana, Kimberly Pitts and husband Michael; 10 grandchildren, Sally Ann, Shelly, Ryan, Robin, Chlsea, Jennifer, Garrett, Ashleigh and husband Daniel, Courtney and Darian, and three great grandchildren, Trinati, Lukas, Nevaeh.
