He was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Joplin, Mo., the son of Aaron Martin and Fern Frances Runnels Behl.
He was a graduate of Fayetteville High School (May 29, 1944) and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Following the war, he returned home and became co-owner of the Fayetteville Motor Exchange. He loved fi shing, was a Master Gardener and an avid sports fan. He was a member of Mount Comfort Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Behl.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Behl; two daughters, Susan Carol Thomas and her husband, Mike of Fayetteville and Linda Kay Behl of Fayetteville; a sister, Beverly Reed and her husband, David of San Diego; a brother-inlaw, Charles Hart and his wife, Vonda of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Mark Thomas and his wife, Lauri, of Bentonville, Hannah Thomas of Fayetteville, Rachael Hinton and her husband, Jim of Akron, Ohio, Robin Rhoades of Tulsa, Okla.; three greatgrandchildren, McKenzie Thomas, Nicole Hinton, Jack Hinton; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Comfort Presbyterian Church with Bob I. Mayes oft ciating.
Burial will be in the Mount Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Moore's Chapel.
