Tina Louise Gomez Lara, 45, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2009, at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at New Life Temple, 2465 Old Anson Road with Pastor Ezequiel Pecina officiating. Burial will follow in the Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Mrs. Lara was born on February 4, 1963, in Santa Anna, Texas to Paul and Alice Gomez. She received her certificate for computer training from Faith Works and was employed by the Age and Disability Office with the State of Texas. Tina was a member of New Life Temple in Abilene. Survivors include her husband, Rene Arispe Lara of Abilene; two daughters, Adriana Marie and Brianna Elise Lara both of Abilene; a sister, Maxine Gomez Watson of San Antonio and two brothers, Johnny Ray Gomez of Flowery Branch, Georgia and Paul W. Gomez of Wingate, Texas. Mrs. Lara was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Thomas Gomez.
