Leo William Ochs was born September 16, 1936 in Springfield, MN, the son of Leo C. and Marie E. (Roiger) Ochs. On June 7, 1958 Leo was united in marriage to Mary Ann Utz and later divorced. He started Ochs Masonry in 1974, working on many basements, fireplaces, and the welcome signs for Springfield. Leo enjoyed teaching the tricks of the trade - especially quality over quantity, to many tradespeople and especially his sons. Leo was united in marriage to Judy Skarphol and later divorced. He enjoyed vacationing in the Duluth area, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing cards. Leo was proud of his 30+ years with Alcoholics Anonymous.

Leo died on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 71 years.

He is survived by his children - Terry (Cathy) Ochs of Springfield, Jeff (Pat) Ochs of Springfield, Dave (Deb) Ochs of Manaskas, VA, Becky (Jack) Vogel of Comfrey, Amy (Tom) Thissen of Mankato, Barb (Rich) Dauer of Springfield, Roberta (Ron) Davis of Springfield, and Rhonda (Steve) Hansen of Springfield; 23 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brothers - Steve Ochs of Dallas, TX and Tom (Melanie) Ochs of Redwood Falls, MN; Mary Ann Ochs; Judy Ochs; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter - Michelle in 1980 and a great granddaughter - Taylor.
