WEST POINT - Anne Marie Klembara, 88, of State Route 518, passed away at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, at the Vista Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Klembara was born Dec. 8, 1921, in West Point, a daughter of the late Andrew and Stefania (Horinka) Novak, and had lived in the area for over 60 years.
A 1939 graduate of Lisbon David Anderson High School, Anne was a "Rosie the Riveter" at Mullins Manufacturing during the Korean War and later worked as a cook at the former Court Restaurant.
She was a member of St. Agatha's Mission Catholic Church, where she taught catechism for 29 years. Anne was also a member of the VFW Post 4111 ladies auxiliary, West Point Grange, served as a poll worker for 40 years, a member of the SNPJ Lodge #358, and had volunteered with the American Heart Association for 20 years.
Her husband, Michael Klembara, Jr., whom he married July 4, 1942, preceded her in death Jan. 19, 2009.
She is survived and will be dearly missed by her sons, Michael Andrew (Linda) Klembara of Fort Thomas, Ky., Dennis Lee (Karen) Klembara of Dallas, Texas, and Gary John (Theresa) Klembara of Garland, Texas; brother, Andy Novak of Lebanon, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Klembara was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Delanis, Margie Roscoe, Susan Belaney, and Helen Oshaben; and her brothers, Loudie and John Novak.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at St. Agatha's Mission Church with the Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial with follow in Lisbon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 9 p.m.
