In failing health for the past several months, Frank M. Monka, 84, a lifelong resident of the county and a commercial fisherman for more than 50 years, died at his home at 1005 20th St., Two Rivers, early Monday morning. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. Joseph Gabryszek officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Mr. Monka was born in the Town of Two Rivers on Oct. 10, 1870 , a son of the late Frank and Antoinette Perdziak Monka. On June 21, 1898, he married Agnes Kozorowski in Two employed as a commercial fisherman with a number of firms during the past half century and from 1943 to 1949 worked at the Hamilton Mfg. Co. of Two Rivers. Besides his wife, Mr. Monka leaves four daughters, Mrs. H.M. Weber of Janesville, Mrs. Lewis Flowers of South Bend, Ind., Mrs. V. J. Taugher of Berlin, Wis., and Mrs. Howard Haag of Greendale, Wis.; four sons, Clement, Albert Zano and Raymond Monka of Two Rivers; two brothers, Joseph of Manitowoc and Alec Monka of Paradise, Mich., and 34 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. For many years Mr. Monka was affiliated with the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Church.Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Monday where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday.Manitowoc Herald Times, March 7, 1955 P.17
