He was born on September 11, 1909 in Puyallup, Washington to Henry and Wendla (Hult) Abrahamson. Edwin grew up and attended school in the McRea District located west of Sedro-Woolley and was raised in the Lutheran Church.
He was married to Rosamond Good in Port Townsend in 1934 and they later resided on the District Line Rd. for many years, later moving to Sedro-Woolley.
In his early years, he was a logger and later worked in a saw mill. He then worked for Skagit P.U.D., where he was an equipment operator, construction crew foreman and at the time of his retirement in 1975, a construction superintendant.
He enjoyed golf, working in the outdoors and in his garden. Edwin was always working on building projects and he was known for their sturdiness.
He is survived by his son, Doug Abrahamson, of Big Lake; his daughter, Sandy Abrahamson-Amum, of Sedro-Woolley; four grandchildren, Jennifer Gallagher, Steven Bach, Stephanie Newton, and Angie Bach; three great-grandchildren, Kellen Gallagher, Kailee Rose Gallagher, and Ryder Newton; and a niece, Rasalie Short, of Seattle.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosamond in 2005; a son, Edwin and a daughter, Carol Bach.
Private family memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the family home on Township St., Sedro-Woolley. Inurnment will be in the Burlington Cemetery.
Arrangements and cremation are under the care of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
