What a great shot with her 410.

HISTORY: Frieda NOBLE homestead in the Hoback Basin just to the East towards the Mountains when you are looking at the old Bondarant School, very close to the Old Jake Pfisterer place in Boundarant. Frieda was born 23 Sept 1899 Cora, Sublette County, Wyoming died 09 June 1978 Rock Springs, Sweetwater, Wyoming, buried in Pinedale, Sublette County, WYO. Her father was James Mark Noble born 2 Jan 1863 Burlington, Iowa & died 14 Jan 1930 Pinedale married 19 Dec 1897 Big Piney, Unita County, WYO (now Sublette County) to Pauline Rahm b: 10 Aug 1871 Hallau, Switzerland died 30 Jan 1942 in Platte City, Platte, MO buried Wyoming. Frieda had at least four Siblings: 1) James Richard Noble (1901-1965), 2) Ida Magdalena (1898-1905); 3) Carroll Richard Noble (1902-1973); 4) Ida M. Perry (1911-1986 MO). Frieda married 11 November 1924 Henry Calvin HITTLE (1898-1984) s/o George A. Hittle (1868-1949) & Amanda E. Mitchell (1866-1954). They repurchased the original Hittle Ranch 1936 & I believe they bought it from Cacklin Lou Nelson, who purchased it back in 1915 from the Hittle family.
Aunt Frieda was a fantastic shot she had this old single shot 410 shot gun and would line up the sage hens until she had three in a row and with one shot all three birds would be dead. She would get in the old truck and go down the back fields and hoped the game warden wasn't watching that day, I think she loved the challenge of the hunt and thrill of the kill of poaching another sage Grouse and not getting caught. Hmmm I can still taste this might fine sage chickens, rolled in flour, cooked just right, they where finger lecking good fried in their old grease laden caste iron pot. Hugs Patsy *Patsy Hittle Gore 1993- revised 9/2005.
