George R. Mattingly, 59, Irvington, died Sept 2, 2005, at his residence. He was born July 25, 1946, in Webster, the son of the late Jack B. Mattingly Sr. and Emma Simpson Mattingly. He was a plumber and pipefitter with civil service, Fort Knox, and was an archeologist, a Navy veteran of Vietnam and a member of Raymond Baptist Church. Mr. Mattingly is survived by his wife, Cathy Mattingly; 2 sons, Donald Mattingly and Joshua Mattingly, both of Webster; 2 daughters, Rhonda Robertson and Amanda Mattingly, both of Webster; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Henry Mattingly, El Paso, Texas and William Walter Mattingly, Albany, GA; and 3 sisters, Dorothy Lawson, Brandenburg, Mary Rose Butler and Ann Thomas, both of Webster. Funeral services were held Sept. 4 from Raymond Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Morris officiating. Burial was in Raymond Cemetery, directed by Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington.
