John A. Schema, Sr., 77, of 924 Ontario Ave., died Friday at St. Nicholas Hospital, where he had been patient the past week. He was born April 13, 1898 in Sheboygan, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Schmertel Schema.
The family moved to St. Nazianz, where he attended St. Gregory Parochial School. On September 24, 1924, he married Miss Mary Koenig, also of St. Nazianz, at St. Gregory Church there. The couple moved to Sheboygan where Mr. Schema worked at Armour Leather Co. for 40 years, retiring in 1963. He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.
Surviving are his widow; two sons, Julius and John P. Schema; one grandson, and one brother, Matthew Schema, St. Nazianz. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church. Rev. Melvin Macoskie, pastor, celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
