Jane was widowed in 1846, when her first husband died. With the encouragement of her father-in-law, John FENN, Jane married Robert HODGERT.
With the four sons, Jane met with accidents which caused her to miscarry, according to Robert's journal.
In January 1852, Robert, Jane, Joseph & Ellen began their journey to the USA aboard the ship "Kennebec".
Their son Robert Alexander was born at St. Louis, Missouri. At abt. 2 months of age, he died there from thrush.
Robert, Jane, along with their new son - Alfred, and Jane's older children, Thomas and Ellen, were Utah pioneers in 1854.
