W. C. BIDDLECOMB DIED

At his home on West Franklin street at 2:50 p. m. Tuesday, August 28, after an illness of two weeks with stomach and bowel trouble. He had suffered similar attacks several years ago, and during his last illness was cared for by Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Driggers, a brother and wife of the late Mrs. Biddlecomb, who died six months and six days before her husband.

Mr. Biddlecomb was born at Marine City, Mich., April 11, 1858. He was married 56 years ago to Miss Caroline Kuhn. A daughter, Mrs. Robert Wigton, of Federal Point, Fla., who survives, arrived the day after her father's death as she had visited him about a month ago and had gone to visit a daughter in Kentucky on her way home when the message was received. Four grandchildren by the first marriage also survive.

Mr. Biddlecomb's second marriage was to Miss Anna V. Driggers, September 29, 1890.

In his early days, Mr. Biddlecomb was on the police force at Detroit a number of years, then a stationary engineer. At the time of his second marriage he was a conductor on a railroad. He and his wife came to Clinton in 1896 and established a restaurant on the first floor of the old Eye office on Main street. They were frugal in their living and knew how to make money and save it. At the time of his death he owned considerable property in Clinton, including a number of houses.

Several years ago Mr. Biddlecomb was converted in the Walker meeting and became a member of the I. O. O. F. and held a number of offices in this lodge.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 p. m. in the Sims Funeral Chapel by Rev. Mitchell, assisted by Rev. Butler. Burial was in Englewood.
