Hugo Gau, 89, a former Town of Eaton farmer, died Thursday, October 25, at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, where he had been a patient for two months.
He had resided at Willowdale Nursing Home, New Holstein, prior to being hospitalized.

Mr. Gau was born June 30, 1890, in the town of Schleswig, son of Herman and Louise Gau. He attended district school.
On December 7, 1937, he married Renola Shell. The couple farmed the Gau homestead from in the town of Eaton. Mrs. Gau died in 1971.

Survivors are nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday evening at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel. The Rev. Joe V. Anderson, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Kiel officiated. Burial was in Eaton Cemetery.
