Henry Milton Benedict, aged 83, died Sunday morning at 12:05 at his home, 137 South Church Street. He had been in failing health for the last five years, suffering from paralysis agitans and had been confined to his home for the last three years.
He was born near Mercersburg, the son of James and Sarah Keller Benedict and had lived his early life in Mercersburg. He came to Waynesboro in 1882. He was employed at the Geiser Manufacturing Company where he learned his trade as machinist. In 1912, he was employed in the Landis Tool Company experimental department. His last place of employment was with Harry Geist.
Mr. Benedict was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Always Willing Sunday School Class, and for many years was assessor of the First Ward.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Evelyn Benedict, at home and Mrs. Chester E. Adams, Waynesboro; two grandchildren; the following brothers and sisters, C. Allison Benedict, Miss Mary A. Benedict, Mrs. A. R. Deardorff, Mrs. D. J. Shank, all of Waynesboro and Mrs. W. I. Book, of Narberth.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from his late home in charge of the Rev. George L. Detweiler. Interment will be made in Green Hill cemetery.
