A. Melvin Bailey Died Saturday
A. Melvin Bailey, one on DuBois' very well known citizens, died very suddenly on Saturday morning at one o'clock and was buried yesterday afternoon from the Bailey residence on Olive avenue, interment being made in the Rumbarger cemetery.
The deceased was one of DuBois' older citizens and was very well known to most of the people here, having engaged extensively in the draying business for many years and was quite a familiar figure on the streets.
His death, which was very sudden, was caused by blood-poisoning following a wound received by being kicked by a horse last Tuesday. The wound was on his leg and was not considered serious. He was able to be about his work until Friday when he was forced to go to bed and died in a few hours.
The deceased was the father of seventeen children, twelve of whom, with his wife, survive him. He was also a member of the O. O. O., and the members of that lodge attended his funeral in a body.
