Birdie Florence Coffman Daugherty, 78, of Timothy Avenue, died November 28, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family that loved her very much. She will be deeply missed by all of them. She was their Rock. She was taken from us by cancer, but had just enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with her loved ones. Birdie was born January 3, 1927, in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late John William and Irene Lewis Coffman. She was the widow of William Arthur Daugherty with whom she shares a grave stone. Birdie and Arthur were married on October 6, 1944. Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Daugherty of Danville; three sisters, Louise Belcher of Danville, Gladys Raley of Parksville, Joan Raley of Indianapolis; a half brother Johnnie William Coffman Jr. of Stanford; a half sister Birdie Mae Case of Junction City; a step sister Emma Jean McCiver of Louisville; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.She was preceded in death by; four brothers Chester Ray Coffman, Homer William Coffman, Arthur Thomas Coffman, Walter Wesley Coffman; and two sisters Hazel Coffman and Alice Coffman. She was a seamstress at Palm Beach Co. of Danville and Belcher's Upholstery of Parksville and was an employee of the Salvation Army of Danville. She was a member of the Pentecostal church. Pallbearers were Jeff Wilson, Dexter Mattingly, Phillip Belcher Jr., J.J. McConaha, Jeremy Johnson and Jenna Lee Johnson, Louise Belcher and Birdie Mae Case. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Raley, Wayne Raley, Ronald Raley, Donald Raley, Phillip Belcher Sr., Steven McConaha and Truman White.
