July 17, 2003
R. Darlene Duncan Barnes, 64, Chesterfield, died July 14, 2003. She was born on March 17, 1939 in Indianapolis. She was a Homemaker. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and will be missed by all. Memorial contributions: St. John's Hospice. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, July 18 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17. Burial: Bronnenberg Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents: Delbert and Ruth Duncan; and one sister, CindyLou. Survivors: her husband of 45 years whom she married on July 4, 1958, Ronald E. Barnes, Chesterfield; 3 children, Jeff (Bev) Barnes, Arcadia, Robin (Charlie) Davis and Berlinda (friend, Mike Davison) Jester all of Alexandria; 11 grandchildren, Dawn (Richie) Carlson, Doug (Jennifer) Thurber, Donovan (Angie) Thurber, Jason Warren and Sarah Duncan, Sammie (Brad) Clevenger, Ashley Hamby, Mindy Warren, Amanda Elbert Michael Jester, Zack Hamby and Brandie Jester; 8 great grandchildren, Carissa, Nicholas, Damon, Dakota, Leita, James, Tiffani and Garric; 8 brothers and sisters, Delbert (Jessie) Duncan, Brownsburg, Patty (Johnny) Freije, Greenwood, Walt Duncan, Brownsburg, Portia (Larry) Jones, Chillicothe, OH, Ricky (Gladys) Duncan, Indianapolis, Marilyn (Craig) Hewitt, North Haven, CT, Mike (Dee) Duncan, Waveland and Peggy Duncan, Fairland; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Their suggestion:
-------------------------
The order of our family is: Delbert, Darlene, Pat, Walt, Portia, Ricky, Mike, Marilyn and Randy.
And Randy is our brother, not Peggy being our sister as the original appears. So I think the last part of the obit should read like this:
Ricky (Gladys) Duncan, Indianapolis, Mike (Dee) Duncan, Waveland, Marilyn (Craig) Hewitt, North Haven, CT, and Randy (Peggy)Duncan, Fairland; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
