Son of Johnny J. Williams and the late Sylvia Williams.
Husband of Delois Mitchell; father of Revonda Redding and stepfather of Ronnie Mitchell; brother of Karen Waters (Rev. Reuben), Teresa Thomas, Penny Williams, Anna Thomas (Terrance), Revonda Thompson, Tracie McClinton, Comicile Monroe (Robert) and Nathan Williams. He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian (Tony) Williams.
Mr. Williams is also survived by 15 step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; devoted son-in-law, Walter Wise; sister-in-law, Evan Mitchell; granddaughter, Hycation Williams-Redding; godmother, Arlene Parker; godson, Carlton Carter; family friend, Barbara Jones; best friends, Big Red, Shirl Young, Virginia Parker, John King and May Rider; great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Darrel graduated from Wilmington High School and Wilver Forest University and was a member of VFW Men's Auxilary and Reindeer.
He worked as a DJ (Delaware Morning Party), a gym teacher at Bayard, the Port of Wilmington, Parks & Recreation and the City of Wilmington, for many years.
Funeral 1 pm Wednesday, January 13 at CONGO FUNERAL HOME, 2317 N. Market Street, Wilmington, 19802. Viewing from 11-1 pm and burial is private.
