Donald Allen, age 68 passed away Wednesday morning, October 5, 2005 at his home in Ennis. He was born on August 23, 1937 in Bullard, Texas, to Thelma and Alfred Allen. He married Brenda on August 23, 1955 in Ennis. Donald was a self employed painter for over forty years. He was a member of the Church of God where he was a Deacon, Minister of Prayer on the Church Council, one of the head ushers, and a Sunday School Teacher for over 10 years. Donald was preceded in death by daughter, Teresa Crow in 1994, brother, Jerry and sister, Joyce.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Brenda, sons Donnie and his wife Joette of Corsicana and Larry and his wife Leona of Hillsboro; grandchildren Joe Crow, Jason Crow, Brandy Scroggins, Stephanie Manning, Hillery Allen, Brittney Allen, Larry Allen Jr., Jacob Allen, and Jonathan Allen; great grandchildren Tyler Crow, Wyatt Crow, Nathan Allen, Chad Allen, Skyler Allen Dylan Crow, Diana Risenhoover, Ryan Saldana, Lauren Saldana, Bailey Manning, and Kamie Manning; brothers Glen, Roland, Stanley, Wendall, and sister Connie Allen.
Services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Friday October 7, 2005 in the Chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis with Pastor Elbert Mosley officiating. Interment will follow at the Myrtle Cemetery.
