Elderly Resident Dies Thursday
Mrs. William Schnell, age 83, who lived at 717 Third Street, Kiel died Thursday morning at her home after a short illness.
The former Emma Voss was born December 25, 1883 in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late Ernest and Friedricke Bachkus Voss. She attended district schools. On October 2, 1913, she was married to William Schnell of the Town of Eaton at Bethlehem United Church of Christ in the Town of Schleswig. The couple farmed in the Town of Schleswig until Mr. Schnell's death in 1960, Mrs. Schnell then moved to Kiel. Mrs. Schnell was a member of Bethlehem UCC in the Town of Schleswig and a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church.
Survivors include one son, Lester, on the homestead farm in the Town of Schleswig; a daughter, Miss Elnora of Kiel; 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son and eight sisters.
