Carl Thomas Davis, 48, of Tallahassee died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carol Mason Davis; a son, Joshua Thomas Davis; a daughter, Haylee Elizabeth Davis. He also has a brother, John Allen Davis of Tallahassee. Carl was born in Dallas, Missouri, on January 12, 1961. He was adopted by Roa and Edith Davis, who preceded him in death. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1979. After serving 12 years enlisted, he was selected for the Officer Program. He served three times in Okinawa, Japan, and toured with USS Missouri. He was awarded numerous military medals and accommodations. He retired from the USMC after serving 22 years as a CW03. Upon his retirement he settled in Tallahassee where he has since been employed by the US Postal Service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. EST Friday January 16, at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road (850-893-4177). Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. EST Saturday, January 17, at Christian Heritage Church, 2810 Sharer Road, with burial following at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park on Timberlane Road.
