Catharine was a daughter of Adam Bolender Jr. and his first wife Mary Magdalena Morr. She was married first to Melchior Yoder Jr. with whom she had a daughter Martha. In 1818 they moved to Pickaway Co. where Martha was married to Daniel Summers on Feb. 24, 1828. Melchior died in 1829 and Catharine was married a second time to Christian Gruber (Groover) on Nov. 29, 1831. Christian Gruber died in June 1842 and Catharine married for the third time to George Stout on May 11, 1843. After a diligent search of Pickaway Co. cemetery records no grave markers were found for Catharine or either of her first two husbands. However, many thanks are due to contributor Michael Geron who found the stone buried in Zion Cemetery, cleaned it, set it and took the photograph.
The note on the flower posted by anonymous stating that she and George Stout divorced before he died does not make sense because court records regarding his estate name her as his widow and also provided money for her support in 1847 plus a share of his estate.
