Swader, John "Jack" B., Jr.,M/Sgt USMC, 91, passed away, Thursday, December 31, 2009.
Jack was born on July 18, 1918, to John and Evaughn (Baker) Swader in Abilene, Kansas. Jack served his country from 1942 until he retired in 1972. He served in the U.S. Army in WW II and as a Marine during the Korean Conflict and also during the Vietnam Era.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlis and sisters, Rochelle Knox and Marie Swader. Survivors include his niece, Shirley and her husband Bob Stueven of Augusta; nephews, Michael (Samantha) Stueven; Scott (Shannon) Stueven; great nieces Aubrey, Grace and Emma Stueven and a great nephew Connor Cunningham.

A memorial graveside service will be held Friday, January 15, at 2:00 pm in Elmwood Cemetery. Family and friends are requested to use the 12th Street entrance.

A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church, 1600 State Street, Augusta, 67010 or in care of the funeral home.
