STATESBORO - Mrs. Doris Evelyn Peacock, age 88, passed away Thursday afternoon at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. She was the daughter of the late Dan Walter and Maggie Elizabeth Bowen Denmark. She was a lifelong resident of Bulloch County and a homemaker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Peacock enjoyed needlework, crafts, quilting and doing for others. She was a member of Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Wesley Peacock; a granddaughter, Stephanie Sue Daughtry McKeehan; and a son-in-law, Ruel Hendrix.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Bette Hendrix of Portal and Sue Nell and Gene Daughtry of Statesboro; six grandchildren, Leland Ruel (Kathy) Hendrix of Statesboro, Mike (Susan) Daughtry of Dublin, Lisa (Greg) Tindal of Aiken, S.C., Greg (Diane) Hendrix of Statesboro, Cindy (West) Beaver of Savannah, Jason (Pam) Daughtry of Metter; and a grandson-in-law, Richard McKeehan; 16 great-grandchildren, David Hendrix, Jennifer (Rob) Hemminger, Heather and Austin Strickland, Megan, Griffin and Marissa Hendrix, Ivy Grace Beaver, Joshua, Jonathan and Christopher Daughtry, Landon, Spenser, Pierce and Jerred Findley and Zoie Cathryn Daughtry; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Leland Hendrix, Greg Hendrix, Mike Daughtry, Jason Daughtry, Greg Tindal and West Beaver.
