Geraldine Fay Caldwell Isaacs, 77, daughter of Russell and Rose Weaver Caldwell, was born on January 19, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa. She passed away on November 28, 2009 at home in Las Vegas, NV after an eight year battle with Parkinson's Disease. A Memorial Service will be held on December 18th at 11 AM at Grandon Funeral Home in Ames, IA with interment in Norwalk to follow.
Geraldine "Jerry' grew up on the family farm south of Norwalk, IA. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1950. In August of 1950 she married Lawrence Smith at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Together they raised two children, Becky and Alan Smith while living in the Nevada, Earlham and Norwalk area. During this time Jerry worked at the Savory Hotel and Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
Later she divorced and lived in Idaho, Utah, and Nevada. During this time Jerry worked at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah and the Mirage in Las Vegas. Jerry and Alan Isaacs were married in 1992 in Las Vegas with their extended families present. Together they enjoyed their home, travel and local LV entertainment. Jerry had an artistic flair and expressed this through her attention to decorating and landscaping of her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister JoAnn (Lloyd) Miller.
Survivors include her husband, Alan of Las Vegas; Daughter Becky (Doug) Paris of Ames, IA; Son Alan (Carol) Smith of Brownsdale, MN; Grandchildren Justin Smith, Nathan (Lindsay) Borst, Kelly (Matt) Kirby, Samantha Smith, Lindsey Paris, Kimberly Paris; Great-Granddaughters Madison Kirby, Leah and Hailey Smith. She is also survived by her step-daughter Beth (Stan) Sewell and their two daughters Rachel and Anna.
